Born in Co.Durham in the North East of England. I have always loved drawing and painting.

As a child, I remember receiving a tin of Derwent pencils for a Christmas present, I was enchanted by the wonderful picture on the tin showing the Lakeland scenery, and really wanted to be able to produce such a drawing.

My enthusiasm for drawing and painting carried on into adulthood, self taught, learning from books and evening classes. I experimented with pastels, watercolour and oil painting until in 2001 I discovered the wonderful world of Colour Pencil. Whilst searching the internet I chanced upon Bob Ebdon's website. I was amazed at the art work that was being produced using the medium of coloured pencil.

I immediately gave up the struggle with watercolour and very quickly joined the UK Colour Pencil Society. Shortly after joining I attended the Ann Kulberg workshop at Patchings Art Centre, and that was it! I was really hooked! I have been a member of the UKCPS since.

In 2002 after spending 12 years living in Berkshire we made the move north of the border to Scotland where I currently live with my husband and border collie dog who is often used as a model for my work.

Though I first used Colour Pencil for Pet Portraits my subjects now vary quite a lot, everything from landscapes to nude studies!
