I have only just started to draw with coloured pencils after years of doing no drawing at all. I am 68 years of age and a retired professional singer and local government officer and haven't done any drawing at all for many years.

I started to draw at school and came third in a schoolboy exhibition but since then have only dabbled with graphite pencils infrequently. However, after retiring from music I needed something to do with my time and my ongoing need to create and that's when coloured pencils attracted my attention - after seeing the amazing work of many of the artist on this site and on You Tube.

The bald eagle was my very first attempt with coloured pencils and "Goldie" the labrador is my second. Both were created on pastlemat using Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils along with Zest It solvent for blending.

I have a lot to learn I know but at least I am on the learning curve.
