I find my inspiration in the patterns, textures and colours of the natural world. The aim of my work is to share my delight in the beauty to be found in the small details all around us - in trees, plants, flowers and roots, rock, stone and water. I also enjoy working on animal subjects, trying to convey their individual personalities.

Coloured pencil is my favourite medium. It allows me to capture my subject on paper with directness and simplicity, enabling me to concentrate on the image rather than the technique.

I believe that experiment and play bring fun and creativity to art, and I enjoy experimenting with a wide variety of subjects, styles and media alongside my more traditional work.

I exhibit every year with Southern Nature and at a number of well-established shows local to my Hampshire home. In 2019 my work was selected for exhibition at the St Barbe Open for the fourth year running. My work was selected for the Southampton Art Gallery Open exhibition in 2018. In 2017 one of my coloured pencil drawings was shortlisted in the National Open Art competition, and in 2015 two graphite drawings were accepted and hung at the Society of Graphic Fine Art DRAW15 exhibition.
