I'm a self taught artist who first became interested in art (although I've always had craft hobbies) when I attended a Watercolour Painting Class on a cruise.

Also on that cruise was a a passenger who was spending her time doing a coloured pencil picture, I was amazed at her work, getting into conversation, she provided me with all the information I needed to have a try with this medium.

Two years later I came across this information when it fell from an old book. So I thought I would give it a try. Buying a few Polychromos Pencils and ultra smooth paper I began.

From my very first attempt I felt this was my medium , and now most of my work is in Coloured Pencil, I do not have a particular subject, I just love to try anything different, which at times can be very challenging.

I attend a U3A (University of the Third Age) mixed media art group, were I exhibit twice a year. I'm the only artist using coloured pencil at the moment. lots of visitor and members are interested in what can be achieved with coloured pencil,so my aim is to promote this medium.

I feel I still have a lot to learn, I'm not happy with my drawing skills, so I am currently taking a online drawing course with a instructor who includes coloured pencil work.
