Anne was born in Barnet, Hertfordshire. She was brought up in Finchley Central, attending a local Grammar School. She then lived in West, North and South London and is currently in Tunbridge Wells. She started drawing and sewing around age 4. Her school studies included needlework, embroidery, art, and technical drawing. She left school in the 1970s then worked in London art and couture studios making mostly handmade work, bringing her art work, technical drawing and hand embroidery to interviews. In those days employers looked at candidates work, then trained them on the job. In 1981 she started her handsewn dress design practice because people asked for her dress designs. Anne then developed hand cut stencils for individually airbrushed pictures and cards. The inks are obsolete so she scanned the stencil art and now prints the cards herself for sales online, at art and craft fairs, and from her workspace. Anne has also made a few hand cut stencils for hand drawn colour pencil cards. She makes most of her art on paper often using pencil and oil pastel. Her portfolios include flower art as well as conceptual and Digital Art. She has an Open University BA which includes languages, accounts, ethics and heritage studies. Her artwork has been purchased by private collectors, and her pictures have been included in several group art exhibitions as well as in 2 solo art shows.
