Jesse Lane has been called a pioneer… as one of the few colored pencil artists represented by a top gallery. He transcends drawing into painting.

Born in 1990 in Houston, Jesse discovered colored pencils while struggling with the challenges of dyslexia.

Growing up, I often felt alone, Jesse says. For years, I bottled up my feelings. Then I realized they could be a source of inspiration. I began creating images of personal struggle and deep, intimate emotion.

His stunning portraits have appeared in numerous publications and earned many honors, including top awards from International Guild of Realism, the Salmagundi Club and the Colored Pencil Society of America.

Jesse teaches workshops online and in person. He’s represented by RJD Gallery.
