I am 39 years old and I live in Cheshire, with my husband and 2 little boys, and where the beautiful wildlife and surroundings inspire much of my work. I am so inspired and in awe of the beauty around me and the natural world, the colours, the textures, the species, and I love capturing this in my artwork.
I completed a BA(Hons) textiles degree at Manchester metropolitan university in 2003, and went on to complete a PGCE in art and design secondary education. I had a very enjoyable 10 years teaching children my passion for art.
In 2013, I had to leave when my youngest son was born with complex medical needs due to a rare genetic disorder. Art became a new found therapy for me and my style is evolving all the time. I recently reignited my love for coloured pencils and I haven’t been able to put them down. I draw as much as I can around my little man and I am hoping to exhibit some of my artwork and create some bespoke commissions.
Coloured pencils are my main media of choice and more recently, watercolour pencils, combined with coloured pencils. In the future I would also like to add some botanical studies to my portfolio, I have also written and illustrated a children’s book too! Which I am hoping to have published.
