Anna-Marie Tremain-Jones

Anna‑Marie is a coloured pencil artist based in Caerphilly, South Wales, working from her home studio where she creates detailed, expressive artwork inspired by animals, character, and the joyful chaos of the world around her.

Her practice blends strong observational drawing with a playful, intuitive approach, resulting in work that feels both technically refined and full of personality.

Working exclusively with high‑quality coloured pencils, she builds each piece slowly and deliberately, layering rich textures and vibrant tones that highlight the unique qualities of the medium. Whether she’s capturing the quiet charm of a creature or the glittering mischief of her Disco Collection characters, her focus is always on atmosphere, emotion, and connection.

Her studio is home to the Disco Collection — led by Disco Duck, the mirrorball‑covered menace who not only launched her shiny world but also snagged a Highly Commended award at the Mall Galleries. He’s joined by Disco Cluck, a rooster with enough attitude to power a small city. Every piece is crafted slowly, intentionally, and with a ridiculous amount of coloured pencils.

Anna‑Marie holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Cardiff Metropolitan University and considers herself a lifelong student of her craft, continually exploring new techniques and expressive possibilities. In 2025, she exhibited her work at the Derwent Pencil Museum in Keswick — a milestone that reflects her dedication to coloured pencil as a fine‑art medium. Her work has also been featured in Artist & Illustrator magazine across two published articles.

Alongside her personal practice, she undertakes bespoke commissions, creating meaningful pieces that combine technical precision with her own artistic spirit. Today, her growing Disco Collection — led by characters like Disco Duck and Disco Cluck — represents the heart of her evolving artistic world: colourful, joyful, and just the right amount of bonkers.
