I am retired and spend a lot of time drawing, sketching and painting. My preferred medium is coloured pencil, although I do also enjoy watercolour painting. I will often create a watercolour base or background for my coloured pencil paintings to be worked on. I have recently started to use boards as a base rather than paper, I use watercolour ground to seal the board as this is excellent to work on with pencils.

I wrote an article for Talking Point on my experiences when I completed my Coloured Pencil course with The London Art College. I was really pleased with the feedback I had from other members and that it also encouraged some to take the same step as I did and complete a Coloured Pencil qualification.

I initially joined UKCPS back in 2017 but had a year or two out, I hope that now I have returned, I can refocus on my painting and maybe even get one on the front cover of an edition of Talking Point magazine!
