I grew up in Dorset with a passion for art, wildlife and nature, but after moving to London I found myself drawn in to the creative world of the music industry. Following a long career working in major record labels with a host of international musicians and bands, I eventually left to raise my two sons and devote more time to my own creative interests.
Largely self-taught, I have explored oils and collage, but currently work mostly with coloured pencils, which I find so effective for producing fine detail. The majority of my portrait commissions are for children and dogs but I'm also creating a broader portfolio of wildlife drawings. I really enjoy the challenge of capturing a strong anatomical likeness and conveying the unique character of a subject. I often work from customer's photographs, but like to take my own whenever possible which allows me to spend time with the pet or person, and gain an insight into their personality.
There is a wonderful array of inspirational and beautiful work in the galleries and I'm looking forward to being a part of the UKCPS community.
