I draw wildlife that I can observe in and around the Teesside area. I grew up in a time of high pollution when some species abandoned the area. However, I wish to illustrate how, with the many changes that have been made to improve the environment, Teesside is something of a success story (though there is much more to do). Some of the lost wildlife has returned and is growing year on year. It has many areas of beauty with amazing wildlife from kingfishers to grey seals!

I use coloured pencils by Faber Castell, Caran D’Ache and Derwent artists pencils on Ingres paper or Murano paper which are available in a wide range of natural colours that represent the backgrounds of the subjects . Both papers have texture to them, which adds an additional dimension to the pieces.
