I was born in Bedford and lived in the countryside. My passion as a child was horses which I have never grown out of! When my children were very small my husband and I moved to North Devon where we owned a Nursery (plants not children!). When we retired we bought a livery yard, again in North Devon, which my daughters run. Now retired I can indulge, not only my passion for horses, but have the time to draw and paint to my hear'ts content, with plenty of subject matter! I paint in most mediums except oils (my husband thinks I might make a mess) but as I paint in the house he has a point. But I always keep coming back to my coloured pencils. I like to try new papers but mostly use Pastelmat as it is very forgiving. I use several different makes of pencil as I paint mostly animals I buy individual pencils to get the earthy colours I need.
Awards/Exhibitions
I have received highly commended 2017, 2018 in the Leisure Painter Magazine TALP Open Exhibition at Patchings, and in 2019 was selected for the exhibition itself where I won a "Batsford" award and "The Peoples Favourite" for my painting "The Thinker" which also won the Peoples' Choice in the UKCPS Online Exhibition 2018.
