I was born in 1984 and have drawn my whole life mostly for pleasure, escapism and really just for myself. I've always had a love for the outdoors on the Farm and with my horses so naturally my drawings always incorporated something "country" but mostly my true love is horses.
For the majority I stuck to graphite, black and grey, but 3 years ago I was gifted a tin of 36 Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and from there I fell in love with colour! I watched endless YouTube tutorials, joined most of the Facebook colour pencil groups and practiced.
Not long after I had a friend ask if I could draw their dog so I agreed, then another friend asked if I could draw theirs and slowly I started getting people wiling to pay me for pictures of their animals... I was gob smacked as I never believed I could be good enough!
So with this new found confidence I splashed out on a set of Caran d'ache Luminance and experimented with papers finding Pastlemat to be my favourite. 2 years on I am having a steady flow of commissions and now looking to try and make it my career!
