As a schoolboy I enjoyed drawing the landscapes and buildings around me. However when I left school I had to put art to one side as I began work as a telecommunications engineer, studying for qualifications and took on family responsbilities.
In my forties I joined a local arts association which ran evening classes in painting and began my struggles with water colour. We moved when I retired and I joined an art club in Woodbridge where I
rediscovered the joy of coloured pencil. These suit me far better than any other medium I have tried.
